01WHAT WE TREAT

What is dry cupping therapy?

Dry cupping therapy uses suction on intact skin, without incisions. At Munaza Physio Studio in Lahore, it is offered to women only after a physiotherapy assessment and used alongside movement, manual therapy and exercise when clinically appropriate.

U-01

An ancient practice

Dry cupping uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissue, increasing local blood flow and releasing tight fascia and muscle.

U-02

How it works

Rooted in traditional practice and widely used alongside modern physiotherapy, it pairs especially well with manual therapy for stubborn muscular pain.

U-03

Why choose it here

At Munaza Physio Studio, cupping is used as one considered part of a physiotherapy plan: screened, dosed and adapted to you.

02Clinical symptom qualifier

Where is your muscle tension holding?

Choose an area to preview how assessment, technique and active rehabilitation fit together. This guide does not replace a clinical assessment.

Example pathway · Upper back & shoulders

Desk posture, trapezius burning and shoulder-blade knots

Long hours at a desk can load the trapezius and muscles around the shoulder blades. Assessment checks shoulder and neck movement, strength and sensitivity before any cups are used.

01Does cupping hurt?

It feels like a firm pulling sensation, not sharp pain. Suction is always adjusted to your comfort.

02What are the circular marks?

Dry cupping can leave temporary red, purple or brown circles because suction affects the superficial skin and small blood vessels. They are not incisions and commonly fade over several days; your physiotherapist will explain what to expect for your skin.

03What is the difference between wet cupping (Hijama) and dry cupping?

Dry cupping uses suction on intact skin only. Wet cupping (Hijama) includes controlled skin pricks; this service is dry cupping within physiotherapy and does not involve cutting the skin.

04How many sessions will I need?

There is no fixed number. Some people notice a short-term comfort change after one session, while ongoing symptoms need a plan based on assessment, exercise and how you respond.

05Is it safe during pregnancy?

Not over the abdomen or lower back. Tell us if you are pregnant and we will adapt or advise against it.

06What does it cost?

Starts from PKR 1,500 for a clinic session. Home visit pricing depends on your location and condition, contact us for a quote.
